چکیده

Cotton is India’s most important cash crop and it used for agricultural industrial purposes all over the world. The greatest way identifying superior hybrids best combiners of parents by L×T design. For analyzing combining ability heterosis various yield attributing variables as well quality traits, viz., four lines testers were crossed to produce sixteen hybrids. MCU5 × KC3 cross contributed positive, highly significant traits number sympodial branches, lint index bolls per plant, along with values sca seed cotton plant micronaire. CO14 NDLH1938 had a effect trait upper half mean length boll weight plant. Therefore, gca value among lines. tester high value, indicating that contributes additive genes testers. some not good have effects. In majority qualities investigated, non-additive or dominant gene action was seen. Heterosis breeding can be exploit amount available vigour.  Keywords: Combining ability, G. hirsutum. Heterosis and Combining Ability for Earliness and Its Related Traits in Cotton (gossypium Hirsutum L.)

Cotton is one of the most important commercial crops in India, playing a key role in national economy. Short duration and high yielding varieties are always required for better quality and lint production. Early maturing crops avoid disease and pest epidemics due to which plant breeders have positioned adequate pressure on the development of early maturing crop plants (Singh, 2004). Term earlin...

Combining Ability Estimates for Yield and Fibre Quality Traits in Line X Tester Crosses of Upland Cotton, (Gossypium hirsutum)

This study was to estimate the GCA of the parents and SCA considered for the development of high yielding and better quality cultivars. Eleven genotypes and 28 F1 hybrids obtained by crossing 4 lines and 7 testers in line X tester mating system were sown in randomized complete block design. L X T analysis revealed significant GCA and SCA effects for all the traits except earliness. Among the pa...

Combining ability analysis for within-boll yield components in upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.).

Cotton is an important cash crop worldwide, accounting for a large percentage of world agricultural exports; however, yield per acre is still poor in many countries, including Pakistan. Diallel mating system was used to identify parents for improving within-boll yield and fiber quality parameters. Combining ability analysis was employed to obtain suitable parents for this purpose. The parental ...

QTL analysis for early-maturing traits in cotton using two upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) crosses

Making use of the markers linked closely to QTL for early-maturing traits for MAS (Marker-assisted selection) is an effective method for the simultaneous improvement of early maturity and other properties in cotton. In this study, two F2 populations and their F2:3 families were generated from the two upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) crosses, Baimian2 × TM-1 and Baimian2 × CIR12. QTL for ea...
